Attached you will find a ROUGH DRAFT paper that needs to be turned into a FINAL DRAFT paper.
The paper does NOT need to be completely re-written, it only needs revising and a few editing.
Below you will find the comments I received from my professor so that we know what needs to be changed for the final paper.
1st Comment -> Hi, I think we’ve got a good start here. The main thing to do at this point is to factor in the very important element of this case: Neil is a teenager. We usually don’t think teenagers can make their own medical decisions, although sometimes they can. Relatedly, the mother is the decision maker here, and she is telling the team what she thinks should be done. So if autonomy is so important, and it’s the mother who is exercising autonomy on behalf of her son, why are we rejecting it? You need to address both of those issues. Furthermore, and relatedly, we don’t have any real counter arguments in this paper. Those are essential. Take a look at the prompt for the paper to see how to organize all this. Does that make sense?
2nd Comment -> Well that’s not quite what’s at stake here.. since he’s a teenager.
3rd Comment -> Is that quite the scenario here? That he knows that he doesn’t know something important. Or are they just going to lie to him and tell him something different? I guess I’m not sure why he’d be feeling stress about something he doesn’t know. Are you assuming that he knows that he doesn’t know?
4th Comment -> It is certainly not that simple. Definitely not that simple in a case where the patient is a teenager who can’t make his own decisions and his mother, who is in charge of making the decisions, has made a decision the team doesn’t like.
5th Comment -> At some point we absolutely have to deal with the fact that he’s a teenager and what that means for the case.
